HENRY KAUFMAN, livery, is a son of Jacob and Catherine (Speigelmyer)
Kaufman. Our subject was born in Delaware Township, December 12, 1856. He
received his education at the public schools of his township. He was
engaged in farming on the homestead until 1880, when he located at Mercer
and engaged in the butcher business. In 1881 he located at Sharpsville and
engaged in his present business. Our subject was married in October, 1883,
to Miss Ella, daughter of John Shell, of New Hamburg. Mrs. Kaufman died in
1884, leaving one son, Harley A., who died in 1884. Our subject married
for his second wife in 1887, Miss Maggie, daughter of Joshua Reichard, of
New Hamburg, Mercer Co., Penn., and by this marriage they have one
daughter. Bertha L. Politically Mr. Kaufman is a Democrat.
