CHARLES C. KAISER, banker and manufacturer, and one of Lehigh
County’s leading men of affairs, was born in Darmstadt, Germany, a son of
George C. C. and Elizabeth (Braun) Kaiser. When but three years of age,
his parents emigrated to America and after several years of residence in
New York City moved to Scranton, where Mr. Kaiser received his early
education. Later he pursued a course of study in Baltimore, Md., and until
in his twentieth year was employed in a clerical capacity. In 1888 Mr.
Kaiser came to Allentown and secured employment as foreman of the
Allentown Hardware Company. In 1894 he became interested in the
organization of the Dent Hardware Company, of Fullerton, of which he was
chosen treasurer, which position he has filled ever since.
Mr. Kaiser is president and was one of the organizers of the Penn
Counties Trust Company and is also a director of the National Bank of
Catasauqua.
Mr. Kaiser is a man of high ideals, a subscriber in no small measure to
charity in and about Allentown. In 1909 he married Laura P. Yeager, a
daughter of Edwin and Sarah (Mohr) Yeager, of Allentown. Mrs. Kaiser is a
member of the D. A. R., several of her ancestors having taken part in the
struggle for independence. Mr. Kaiser and his family are members of St.
John’s Reformed Church, of Allentown.
